Resignation letters are flying all over the place at the Imo State House of Assembly. Earlier on Tuesday, with the exception of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker, all the principal officers resigned from their positions. Below is a letter from the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Kennedy Ibeh
The Chief Whip, Marcel Odunze also tendered his letter of resignation. Sources on ground at the Imo State House of Assembly confirmed that out of the 27 Lawmakers , only 11 of them showed up at the chamber this morning. A roll-call of those who showed up were the Speaker Acho Ihim (Okigwe), Deputy Speaker OZB (Nwangele), Uju Onwudiwe (Njaba), Uche Ejiogu (Ihitte Uboma), Uche Oguwuike (Ikeduru), Arthur Egwim (Ideato North), Obinna Egu (Ngor Okpala), Ikonne (Owerri West), Nnataraonye (Mbaitoli), Chinedu Offor (Onuimo) and Lawman Duruji (Ehime Mbano).
In additional to all the drama transpired, Majority Leader, Lugard Osuji was placed on a 2-week suspension by the Speaker, Rt.Hon. Acho Ihim.
