Not too long ago, former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon.Ike C. Ibe declared his intention to seek our mandate for Governorship in 2019. Hon. Ibe is no stranger to the political circle. In 2007, he was referred to as the anointed candidate to succeed Chief Achike Udenwa. The Okigwe born politician was however knocked out in the late stage of the campaign. Fingers were pointed at then President Olusegun Obasanjo, others pointed at heavy weight political engineers on ground in Imo who felt Ibe had shunned them. Anyway…..
As Ibe heads back to seek votes at the polls, these are his words:
When I become governor in 2019, I will see the entire IMO as one. I will spread development and the resources of the state evenly across all the 27 local government areas. I will not be clannish or parochial. Every zone deserve and will get fair and just treatment. What is good for the geese is good for the gander. This is my pledge to our people. So help me God.
In 2015, Rt.Hon Ibe jumped off the wagon before the deadline which PDP had given for aspirants to pick up their forms. We cannot say what went wrong. All we know is that he moved over to APGA and was running mate to the APGA governorship candidate. As he embarks on this solo missionary journey to secure the APGA ticket, what advise do you have for him?
