The central taskforce committee of the commission which is chaired by the GM visited some major roads and streets in Owerri today and raid off shanties, street trading, blockage of waterways and illegal dumping of refuse.
The GM, while fielding questions from the press at the early hours of today stated that his team visited Chukwuma Nwaoha by MCC junction, Imo State University junction by works layout, Wetheral junction by MCC road, Cherubim junction by wetheral road, Akachi road by wetheral and confiscated 182 pieces of umbrella.
Comrade Nwaoha vowed to continue the movement until the capital city of Imo State wears the best look.
On the issue of flooding, Comrade Jeff Nwaoha stated categorically that the assertion of some oppositions yesterday that all the streets in Owerri were flooded was false. According to him, it was the act of failed opposition who vowed not to see anything good about the rescue mission government. He maintained that areas were overflow of run off water were witnessed a little, were the places construction works are still ongoing and promised that by the time the works are completed, the state will no longer experience such.
In the same vain, he warned those who have formed the habit of blocking waterways with refuse to stop henceforth or face the commission’s action.
