Recently, the Imo State government launched the “State Rice Anchor Borrower’s programme” in a bid to provide food security and create jobs.
At the programme launch on Wednesday, September 28th, Governor Rochas Okorocha noted that it was time to move back to agriculture to cushion the effects of the harsh economy been faced by our nation today. Also at the event was Kebbi State Governor, Sen. Abubakar Bagadu acknowledged Governor Okorocha for thinking outside the box with a view to providing for his people.
In her own speech, the CBN Agric Facilitator Mrs. Nkechi Osuji stressed that the CBN would be willing to partner the state in this programme as it will encourage food production, create job opportunities and increase employment in the state. She pointed out that Kebbi State has already accessed over 20 billion naira, promising that Imo will equally access theirs when they put every machinery in place.
