The people of the newly created Okeanunu Autonomous Community, Nnarambia in Ahiazu Mbaise local government area, last week presented their Eze-elect, Chief Reginald Ibeawuchi Mbaegbu (Anunu Ebe I of Okeanunu) to the authorities of the local government area.
In his speech during the presentation ceremony which took place at the local government headquarters Afor-Oru, the Transition Committee Chairman, Chief Cletus Onyegbule commended them for the peaceful way they selected their Eze-elect and promised them that he would forward his papers to the state government for recognition and presentation with staff of office.
He highlighted some of the achievements of the Governor Rochas Okorocha-led administration and enjoined them to continue to give him support to enable him continue to provide them with the dividends of democracy.
In his own speech, a community leader, Nze Pius Agu on behalf of the community expressed gratitude to the Transition Committee Chairman for the reception and assured him of their support to both the state government and his administration at the local government area.
He disclosed that the emergence of Chief Mbaegbu as their Eze-elect was through peaceful and transparent election that was acknowledged by everyone as free and fair, adding that the Eze-elect is a man of integrity, who they believe, will live up to their expectations, having contributed immensely to the actualization of the new autonomous community.
