Governor Rochas Okorocha has directed all the Health workers in the state be paid their ten months arrears of salary including December. He explained that the government had delayed the payment of the Health workers’ salaries to enable it resolve the issues of certain questionable allowances and gross case of unseriousness on the part of the Health workers.
Governor Okorocha gave the directive Tuesday night at the end-of-year party organized for Government House workers, and also directed that all the workers in the state be paid their salaries up to December; adding that his administration has always attached much importance to the salaries of workers in the state.
The governor stated that since 2011 when he became governor the workers in that had been paid as at when due until most recently when the bad economic situation in the country began to tell heavily on the states’ finances across the nation; adding too that it was because of his love for Imo workers that made him to be the first to pay the twenty thousand Naira minimum wage.
