The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Owelle Rochas Okorocha as winner of the Imo Governorship elections. The supplementary elections held on Saturday, April 25th was conducted across 256 polling units in the state.
Governor Okorocha who contested under the platform of the All Progressive Congress party polled in a total of 416,996 votes to defeat his strongest opponent, Rt.Hon Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party. The Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives and number six citizen polled in 320,705 votes. Working his way up the ladder, Capt.Emmanuel Iheanacho of the All Progressives Grand Alliance party picked up roughly over 28,000 votes for the third place.
