Following a court order granted by Justice C.A Ononeze-Madu, of the Orlu High Court, the Imo state House of Assembly, Tuesday, swore-in Chief Walter Ikechukwu Uzonwanne, as the member representing Oguta state constituency in the Assembly.
The swearing-in ceremony which took place at the Assembly complex was presided over by the clerk of the House, Barr. Chris Duru, who read out the order of the High on the floor of the House, also led the new lawmaker in taking his oath of office and allegiance.
In his response, the Honourable member promised to abide by the laid down rules of the House in the discharge of his constitutionally assigned duties.
He assured the people of Oguta state constituency of quality and purposeful representation in the few months he stand-in as their representative, while thanking his colleagues for their sense of maturity and obedience to the rule of law.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Uwajumogu, while congratulating Chief Uzonwanne on his legal victory, also assured Oguta people that the Assembly would give their lawmaker the needed cooperation to enable him champion the needed development of the area.
