The campaign train of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives and governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Imo State last weekend stormed the markets in Owerri where traders, their customers and other users of the sprawling commercial centre received and interacted freely with the man who hopes to be governor come May 29, 2015.

It is instructive that besides personal one-on-one touch with Imolites who had a direct feel of his person and personality, the leadership of the traders union organized as OMATA at the Owerri Main Market led by Alex Okwudili also held definitive talks with Hon. Ihedioha where they pledged their support for his candidature.

After that resounding outing at the Owerri Markets, the campaign train moved to Onitsha, Anambra State to meet with Ndi Imo resident in the city and other parts of the State that had gathered to receive the distinguished deputy speaker.

The Onitsha events were yet other clear signs that Ihedioha’s candidature has become a solid movement railroading its way to power in Douglas House in May. Before meeting with Anambra-based Imolites at Holiday Resort, Onitsha, the campaign train visited the paramount ruler, Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, at his palace who blessed the governorship project of the deputy speaker.

The campaign train which was joined by PDP stalwarts in Imo State including State Chairman, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, some members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) like Chief Olisa Metuh, National Publicity Secretary, and Chief (Dr.) Kema Chikwe, National Women Leader, and other top political leaders was also hosted by Mr. Peter Obi, immediate past governor of Anambra State and deputy Director-General of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign Organization. The meeting with Imolites was very fruitful as Ihedioha took his ‘Together We Rebuild Imo’ to his kith and kin in Onitsha and urged them to support his aspiration to become the next governor of Imo State.
