An entrepreneur and frontline governorship Aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Mr. Okey Ezeh has promised a new deal for Imo based journalist if he is elected as Imo governor come 2015.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after picking his nomination form at the party National Secretariat in Abuja, Mr Okey Ezeh charged the APGA leadership to insist on public declaration of net assets by all governorship Aspirants on the party platform so as to give party members the opportunity to know more about those aspiring to fly the party flag com 2015. This according to him is to avoid being deceived by men of questionable pedigree masquerading as statesmen.
The guber hopeful who stormed the party National Secretariat with hundreds of his supporters including about 17 members of the State Working Committee of the party from Imo, vowed to secure the party ticket for Imo youths whom he said have given him tremendous support to prove to Nigerians that Imo youths can no longer be taken for granted.
According to him, “with the purchase of this form, Imo APGA will never be the same again. It is now very clear that those who tried to deceive our party members and secure victory when the whistle was not even blown have failed. In Okey Ezeh Campaign Organization, we depend on God first and then on the generality of Imo APGA people whose mandate we seek. We have always insisted that APGA people be given the opportunity to elect their flag bearers in a free and fair primary so that the losers can congratulate the winners and offer their support so that the party will be stronger at the end of the day and confront other parties in the general election”.
He charged Imo based journalists to investigate and make public the character and antecedent of all those aspiring to govern Imo because according to him, Imo people cannot afford to make another costly mistake come 2015, promising to build a resource centre and develop a housing scheme in collaboration with the private sector for Imo journalists to make life better for media practitioners in the State.
He charged journalists to save Imo people from another catastrophe come 2015, by ensuring that they expose all shady characters. “Imo journalists must as a mark of fulfilling their God given responsibility as agenda setters, ensure they investigate and make public the true nature of all of us who are aspiring to govern Imo, so that Imo people will not cry, had we known again”.
