The Imo state House of Assembly, has directed the state Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest the Executive Secretary, Secondary Education Management Board (SEMB) and ensure that the SEMB boss appears at its resumed plenary on November 5th .
The House, at its committee of the Whole sitting earlier in the week, disclosed that the warrant of arrest against the executive secretary became necessary following reports of high-handedness, abuse of office and flagrant disregard of the orders of the State Assembly.
The SEMB boss, was reported to have allegedly shunned all invitations of the house over a report of premature retirement of one Mrs. Cecilia Arizieh from the Services of the Imo State Secondary Education Management Board, (SEMB)
At the presentation of report by the House Committee on Civil Service Matters, the House ordered that Mrs. Cecilia Arizieh be recalled back to the employ of the SEMB, while restoring her salaries, allowances and all other entitlements legally due to her, including promotion in accordance with the laws establishing the SEMB.
In a related development, the House also directed the state Head of Service, Sir. Ekezie Okenze, to appear before it at its resumed sitting to provide answers to questions and petitions which borders primarily on constant negation of House’ orders and the over- all welfare of Imo workers.
