The Imo State Government has concluded arrangement to commission the Community Government Council (CGC) secretariat located at Naze, along Owerri-Aba road.
The State Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha who disclosed this to Journalists during an inspection on the proposed site of the secretariat, said that the whole idea was to ensure proper take off of the CGC in the state.
Governor Okorocha said that the establishment of the secretariat will enable the staff of the ministry embark on programmes, projects and policies that will enable the ministry function effectively.
Owelle Okorocha made it clear that the essence of CGC is to attract development in rural areas and as well unlock the hidden agricultural potentials in the rural areas; adding that the secretariat will be commissioned soon.
He maintained that the ministry of CGC will focus much attention on agricultural programmes, youth empowerment as well as bring government closer to the grassroot.
