Senator Hope Uzodinma’s camp has swiftly reacted to the rumour making rounds alleging a face off with Hon. Bethel Amadi. A report submitted to IMO STATE BLOG today alleged that Hon. Bethel Amadi who had been enjoying a robust support from Senator Uzodinma had declared war against the distinguished Senator over what he described as deceit, double standard and betrayal.
Citing a “reliable source” at the PDP State Secretariat in Owerri, the report claimed that what informed Senator Uzodinma’s alleged decision to withdraw support from Hon. Bethel was based on findings which showed that Amadi lacked the popularity and capacity to win even the delegates from his Federal Constituency.’
The report further claimed that Hon. Bethel Amadi was spoiling for war over his contribution of 5 Brand Toyota Hiace buses and a cash of N10, 000, 000 during Senator Hope Uzodinma’s empowerment held last December. A reaction attributed to a top aide of Senator Uzodinma was also cited where Hon. Bethel Amadi was referred to as a “name dropper, failure and ingrate who thought he could hoodwink the Senator into believing he had capacity to contest for the governorship election and warned him to desist from blackmailing his boss.”
When IMO STATE BLOG reached out to Sen.Uzodinma’s camp for comments, Nze Chinasa Nwaneri refuted the story and denied speaking with any reporter over the alleged remark at Hon.Bethel Amadi. He described the report as a dirty, cheap blackmail attempt by agents who felt the Imo governorship was their birthright. Speaking in clear terms, Nwaneri said that both the distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma and Hon. Bethel Amadi enjoyed a great relationship and the team would not be weighed down by such false stories. ” There is a good synergy between Sen. Hope Uzodimma and Rt. Hon. Bethel Amadi. No amount of blackmail can crack our relationship with Rt. Hon. Bethel. He is a good Man and God is with him.” He said.
