Special Adviser on Politics to Imo State governor, Uche Onyeagocha, has called on the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to sack the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, for allegedly accusing the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the sponsor of the deadly Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
The former member of the House of Representatives said: “Olisa Metuh should be fired for saying that other political parties contesting power with PDP are responsible for the Boko Haram attacks. Such recklessness is not expected from somebody who is occupying such office because it is completely irresponsible.”
He made the call yesterday during his inauguration as the Owerri zonal patron of “Vote Rochas Club” a grassroots support group for Governor Rochas Okorocha’s 2015 gubernatorial ambition.
Onyeagocha, who also debunked the speculations by some local media in the state that he had dumped the APC, affirmed that he was still a staunch member of the party who is working for the realisation of Okorocha’s second tenure dream.
“I have never left APC. On the contrary, those that were said to have defected from APC like Araraume, Achike Udenwa were never members, they were never registered with the party. I believe if Okorocha offers himself to run for governor, with his performance, he would win,” he said.
