Ahiara in Ahiazu Mbaise local government Area has been included as one of the cities to be developed into a new city by the state government to boost the soci-economic status of the area.
Governor Okorocha announced this at the Ahiazu Council Headquarter during his verification tour of projects and town hall meeting with the people of the area.
The governor who called on the people to support the Rescue Mission government in its efforts to leave a lasting legacies in the state, assured that no part of the state will be marginalized in the distribution of dividends of democracy.
He maintained that all the projects initiated by his administration will be completed within the life of the present administration and appealed to the people to collaborate with government in ensuring that contractors handling the various projects deliver good jobs.
Some of the projects includes, the on-going modern school building in each ward of the area, MDG supported solar Powered Water scheme at Umuhi and Nnarambia among others.
The governor further promise to approve the contruction of access road to Mpam as well as rehabilitate the Afor Oru-Afor Ogbe-Ogurike road to further make the area more viable for economic and social development.
In her remarks, the Majority Leader, Imo House of Assembly and member representing Ahiazu Constituency, Hon Adaku Ihuoma lauded the efforts of the governor in bringing about rapid and massive transformation of the state especially in the areas of infrastructure, rural and urban roads, health, free education and community government council [CGC] which gears towards unlocking the potentials of the rural communities.
She described governor Okorocha as a man that keeps his promise and urged Ahiazu people to continue to support the rescue Mission government.
