Okorocha charges Imo Youths to be worthy ambassadors.

 Governor Rochas Okorocha has charged youths to be good ambassadors and agents of Igbo language and cultural transformation where-ever they are.

Owelle Okorocha who said this when he treated the Ada and Opara Imo and other beauty pageants drawn from the Local Government Areas of the State to a sumptuous breakfast at the Government House, Owerri, stated that his administration is determined to make Imo better in every facet including human capacity building and job creation for the teaming youths.

The Governor charged the youths not to be distracted, but to be diligent, morally sound and make good use of every opportunity, pointing out that they are required to be good representatives of their families, communities and state at all times.
He stressed the need to promote the Igbo language and culture as to foster unity, attract tourists and investors as well as bring cross-cultural development.

It could be recalled that last year the state government organized the Ada and Opara Imo beauty pageant which involved the communities in the state and produced competitors representing the local governments at the State level where Miss Annabel Obianuju Amadi emerged as the Ada Imo and Mr. Kenneth Ikenna Nwadike as the Opara Imo.

Hon. Paddy Obinna, the Special Adviser to the governor on culture, commended governor Okorocha for the opportunities he gave the youths through the beauty pageant which include: Car donations to the best male and female runner-off with cash donation of N1.m each, a trip to South Africa, Abuja and a weekend treat at Concord Hotel for the first, second and third winners respectively among others.

He applauded the governor for making the beauty pageant an annual event while he charged the youths to work in tandem with the rescue Mission.
Mr. Nwadike Kenneth who is the Opara Imo thanked the State governor for the wonderful opportunity given them and promised on behalf of the group to be good ambassadors as well as agents of good transformation wherever they are.
