Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional rulers, HRM Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri has been included in the protocol list of the Imo State government as the Head of the Community Government Council(CGC) in Imo State.
Governor Rochas Okorocha disclosed this on Wednesday while addressing the Traditional rulers, Government Liaison Officers,(GLO)Community Liaison Officer(CLO)Women Leaders and Executive Secretaries of the Community Government Council(CGC) at Ahiajoku convention centre,Owerri. Governor Okorocha noted that including Eze Imo in the state government protocol list became absolutely necessary, following his(Ohiri’s) position as the head of the forth tier government in Imo state.
According to the governor, after himself, his Deputy, Speaker Imo State House of Assembly, the Chief Judge of the state,that the next person in the list of protocol now in the state is the Head of the forth tier government in the state, HRM, Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri and enjoined Imo and non Imo people to adhere to the inclusion of Eze Imo in the state government protocol list.
The Imo governor who stated that Africa and Nigeria can only develop more ,if there is community government council (CGC) as well as ensure that the CGC is stronger than the Local Government, Local Government stronger than the state government and state stronger than the federal government, attributing the low level of development in Nigeria to overbearing influence of the Federal government .
He however, called for the introduction of the CGC in all the states of the federation towards attracting more development to the rural communities across the country. Okorocha who emphasized that his greatest achievement was the introduction of the community government council in the state, said that it was his wish to develop the communities in the state like the state capital, were, according to him ,all the necessities of life would be provided for the people of the state.
Gov.Okorocha stressed that the introduction of the forth tier government in the state has nothing to do with politics and should not be politicized in any way. Governor Okorocha equally disclosed that a programme would be introduced next year in the Institutions of Higher learning in the state to assist traditional rulers who are not educated to go to school and prolong their life span. He equally assured various communities with Ezeship tussle in the state that the state government, within two months will settle all Ezeship tussle in the state and charged the CGC executives to always work harmoniously among themselves for the progress and unity of their various communities.
