‘I cannot imagine speaking at Laz’s funeral. It is so sad that we are burying someone I had seen as a junior brother confidant. He worked for all the Governors that have ruled Imo from the time of Late Evan Enwerem to date. Though he lived for only 45 years, but he made his mark on the sands of time.
Because of his effectiveness in protocol affairs, few days before his death, he was being considered being moved to man the Governor’s (Okorocha) Protocol Department. But God knows why he allowed him to go this time.
We cannot question God but we take solace in the fact that my good friend and brother Laz Anyanwu (Jnr.) is resting in the bosom of our Lord. But as I am speaking now, those who killed him have been caught in Anambra State and would soon be paraded…’. Deputy Governor, Jude Agbaso
