Governor Rochas Okorocha’s End of year message (2012)


As we bid farewell to year 2012, may I on behalf of my family and government wish the good people of Imo and Nigerians a happy and prosperious New Year.

The wonderful support you gave us during this period strenghtend our commitment towards building Imo of our collective dream and aspiration.

As government in Rescue Mission, we shall remain focus in our transformation Agenda by promoting only programmes and policies that will inpact positively on the lives of our people.

Let me reassure that most on-going monumental projects embarked upon by this administration will be completed in 2013. We shall also make more sacrifaces to sustain our free education programme at all level so as to create opportunities for the hopeless and further secure a brighter future for our children.

As we celebrate with joy the triumphant entry into the New Year, may I once again urge you to shun all form of vices including kidnapping, arm robbery and corruption. May we also continue to pray for a sustainable peace and unity in our state and dear country.

Finally, may I in the spirit of the New Year celebration express my forgiveness to Senator Chris Anyanwu who a few days ago commited serious security breach that could have cause my life. I strongly believe that she must have realized her mistakes by now.
