Imo State Government says it will soon begin the issuance of Imo Citizen Identification Card (ICIC) to its natives living outside the state in order to have an accurate database of its people.
Special Assistant to the Governor, Liaison Office, Lisa Chinwe Asugha, who disclosed this to newsmen in Lagos said the plan to have an identification card for natives of the state was born out of the need to properly cater for those living outside the state and to make them feel the impact of the tremendous work being executed by Governor Rochas Okorocha.
She said the identification card would also enable the state keep tab on natives to properly identify the genuine citizens and also bring government closer to the people.Ms Asugha called on all Imo indigenes resident in Lagos to be part of the exercise.
