Earlier on today, Hon.Chinedu Offor was sworn in by Governor Rochas Okorocha as the Honourable Commissioner for Information & Strategy. He takes a distinguished place in history as the 23rd Commissioner to serve Imo State in the Ministry of Information.
Trained in the United States, Offor holds a Bachelors degree in Journalism and a Masters in Management Information Systems.
Prior to this appointment, Hon. Chinedu Offor served as the Senior Special Adviser on Media to the Governor. It is worthy to note that before joining the Imo Rescue Mission, he worked as a reporter with the official external broadcast agency of the United States Federal government, Voice of America.
As he steps into his new role to head the Ministry of Information, Hon.Chinedu Offor disclosed to IMO STATE BLOG.com that the Governor’s vision was to reposition and revitalize both the state owned Statesman and IBC. To ensure a more effective information of not only government activities and events but, inform authorities of the people’s views and opinions as well.
