Time Magazine released the full list of nominees for the 2012 most influential people in the world . Lo and Behold, our very own President Goodluck Jonathan is on the list!!
Nigerians are already asking.
“Is this a joke?”
” How did our President Jonathan make the list when he has not yet succeeded in influencing Boko Haram from carrying out their terrorist activities ?”
According to Time Magazine:
The twin imperatives of trying to end a bloody northern Nigeria Islamist rebellion led by Boko Haram and dismantle the fuel subsidies that are one of the country’s main sources of corruption (but are also, awkwardly, generally popular for keeping gas prices low) requires bold leadership of Jonathan, who is finishing his first year in office. Whether Nigeria descends into civil unrest, civil war or splits, or whether it reforms and Africa’s sleeping giant finally awakens, depends foremost on him.
Official voting ends on Friday, April 6, and the poll winner will be included in the TIME 100 issue. The complete TIME 100 list will be chosen by their editors and posted on TIME.com on Tuesday, April 17.
After they have finished nominating him, they are asking us to vote whether he should have been on the list. If they really want to know how we feel, they should enable their comment box on their website so Nigerians can express themselves publicly!!
Instead of them to use their Magazine to enlighten the world on the giant strides of Boko Haram in Nigeria …. how kidnappers are terrorizing innocent citizens …. our vegetable Economy which has been on life support for many years but is still able to accommodate a N1 Billion naira feeding allowance per year for our dear President and his family among other issues that might interest the whole world, they are asking us to vote.. Vote what?
Time Magazine is not serious!
