The Appeal panel sitting in Abuja has just upheld the election of Governor Rochas Okorocha. This brings a closure to what can be described as the most controversial election any state has had.
The Appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, was dismissed by a unanimous decision of the five Judges of the Court of Appeal panel sitting in Abuja.
A correspondence sent to IMO STATE BLOG from the Honourable Commissioner for Information Dr, Obinna Duruji read as follows:
Owelle’s victory today at the Court of Appeal in Abuja is a further manifestation of its divine origin and a revalidation of Imo people’s mandate. The judgement has also rekindled our faith and confidence in the Nigerian Judiciary.
Imo people applaud the judges for remaining resolute in their determination to uphold Imo people’s mandate despite the pressures to the contrary.
Given the wisdom of the Tribunal and Court of Appeal, we are confident that the dismissal will stand supreme court scrutiny. To God be the glory!
The Court of Appeal affirms the judgement of the Imo State election tribunal that upheld Governor Okorocha’s election on November, 12th 2011. For a second time, the Courts have spoken the voices of the masses.
IMO STATE BLOG congratulates His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha on his victory and wish him well with his Rescue Mission Agenda in Imo.
