Imo State to partner with Indian firm to build International Hospital

The Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has disclosed plans to sign a memorandum of understanding with an Indian partner to build an international hospital in the State.

Addressing a team of Christian leaders from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), and Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) among others at an interactive prayer forum organized for the State by CAN at the Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri recently, Governor Rochas Okorocha reiterated his commitment to put smiles on the faces of the people of Imo State, noting that he slashed his security vote to ensure the success of the free education programme embarked upon by his administration.

According to him, Imo State would not depend on the revenue generated from oil for its survival, adding that the recent upgrade of facilities and establishments in the State such as the Imo Concorde Hotel and Imo Palm Plantation has started yielding positive results through revenue generation for the government.

He described the present administration in Imo State as one which is anchored on the principle of sacrifice, political will, and the people’s culture that will be devoid of corrupt practices and called on the religious leaders in the State to build an Ecumenical centre where Christians will gather to pray for the unity of the nation.

Speaking further at the occasion, Governor Okorocha indicated his readiness to collaborate with religious leaders in the fight against kidnappers and armed robbers whom he identified as enemies of the State.

Earlier in a remark, the Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness, Eze Samuel Ohiri recalled that prior to the last general elections, Imo people had sought the face of God for a credible leader who later emerged in the person of Owelle Rochas Okorocha. He urged them not to forsake God who made the victory possible.

The high point of the occasion is the conferment of a meritorious award on Governor Rochas Okorocha by the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) for his outstanding leadership style.

Also in attendance at the prayer meeting were Bishops of CAN, CCN and PFN as well as clergies from other denominations of the Christian faith.
